sounds great mate :) the important thing is that you know what you have done wrong and that you are willing to fight your inner enemy. I think this part is the key when it comes to successfull trading. Greed is definitely not good (even when Mr. Gekko said it otherwise), a certain level of risk is of course necessery if you are aiming for gains, but as we all know high risk brings big wins as well as big losses wich can blow your account big time. Anyway glad to hear that you developed as a trader, keep it going mate !

Hey, i am glad that you are back. I am from Bulgaria and I was trying to do the same thing for over a year, but since the begining i was able to cover only 4 months of my list and then got greedy and crushed the account. I am starting this again and hoppefully this time i will be more patien. I think this can work as long as you are patien and not greedy.

Thanks for the test. I always like to test myself especially in trading terms.
Anyway, I've read about your plan-delays because of the school. Well, don't get stressed too much and take trading break if neccessary. In my eyes you are doing very good job and if it will be $1 million in 500 days it's still the same result.
As I wrote in the past comments, I don't daytrade anymore, because of the time-consuming nature of intraday. I think that you will (after this project experience) consider other ways of trading and will find more relaxing one, like I did. Believe me, it's far better feeling to make 60% in 3 months by doing virtually "nothing" than double the capital in 30 days by doing intraday, catching pip here and pip there. But as every art, trading requires time and you are spending it wisely. Keep it up, finish the school obligations and get back when you're ready.

I use the same one I recomand you above under "learn treading" -> "trade forex". Im a mac user and therefore this is pefect for me since no installaion is required for the webtrader I use. I had no problems so far.

@StockFriend, thank you. It depends how you define trading. Papertrading and demotrading much longer then with real account and I can just recomend everyone to practice with a demoaccount before trading with real money. Some people learn faster then others how to deal with the market so the prepering time differs from trader to trader. Maybe you have heared about the "turtle traders" thats a good exampel that if the preperation is good even a few weeks can be enoughto be successfull ( But in the most cases its not).

Hi Herick, I really appreciate your Interest in my project. It depends on the volatility of the market. Usually I try to close the positions the same day I placed them, but of course sometimes that wouldn't be clever so I close them the next day if they dont run into the stoploss/takeprofit or if I placeed them close to the end of the day. I think on average I hold the positions just few hours. My broker does not allow scalping so I must not hold the positions in "very short" timeframes anyway. The next argument is ofcourse that I try to avoid paying interest for holding the positions for a longer period. You see there are several factors which influence my decision.

I know what you mean, and I must agree with you that the most people have a gamble-style of trading. Maybe its more exciting to take a huge risk, but in the end its more likely that they loose all the money they invested. I thought about this one and will post reports with times the trades were placed so the reader can better ceck the exact entering and closing point, Ill see what I can do.
Yes thats correct. Im kind of totaly the opposite of you in this topic :) I see the fundamentals as a support tool and the Technical Analysis as the main tool. I think both are Important, but everyone lean toward the one or other method of analizing the market.

As far as I can say, you behave in rational way, you have plan and you're doing your best to stick with it. That's one of many edges a trader can have. Many other ppl just jump in, lose money and jump out without too much thinking.
If you will publish your longer term results (monthly statements or so), I'd like to take some time to analyze it. If I got it correctly your decisions are based on technical analysis. Do you include any kind of fundamental thinking into your decision-making process? In other words, do you think you could trade the way you do without any additional information except the price history?
For me, fundamentals are the cornerstone of my trading and TA is a kind of support tool.

@Zdenek, I dont think that your "old-fashioned mug" as far as I can tell :) Your right, it is pretty risky wen you trade multiple positions no matter how small the risk-percentage is (when there are to many trades at the same time). I try to avoid this situation and it went well so far for me. I know that a lot if not the most traders fail beacause of the mentioned issue, and Im aware of this. Btw I would never try to beat the market, i rather try to get along with it ;)
Im however thankfull for your wise opinion and for beeing interested in my project Sir :)

@Ethio, I dont know about the Uni thing :) there are still many bucks to to make untill this point is reached ;)

3-5% of capital could be 1pip or it could be 100pips. I was talking about risk in terms of real leverage. By risking 3-5% of capital and having 10 open positions with total real value of $10k with account little over $100 is way too much. I saw too many guys failed trying to beat the market with 3-5% risk so I AM skeptical about this one. But you never know in trading arena. That's why Im rooting for this guy :)

I'm trying but there is a long way to go and its much harder to keep the money than to make it, if you ask me ;) I have 2 open positions from friday which were in loss as the market closed so we will see how the stats are looking on monday afternoon, 2 weeks after the project started. I'll then post the weekly videoupdate again.
